The current Chevrolet Silverado HD’s design has been polarizing. Some love the big, bold grille and squinty headlights that dominate the front end, while others despise it. Luckily, those with distaste can turn to the GMC Sierra HD. It has still has a large grille, but features a far more traditional design up front. But what if GMC had not only matched the massive mouth of the Silverado, but taken things a few steps further? This GMC Denali truck rendering from the General Motors Design Instagram is about as bold as bold can be.
The grille spans across most of the front end, incorporating a rather large “DENALI” logo at the top. The headlights are also incorporated into the grille as three vertically stacked bars, with a secondary lighting element perched above on the hood. And if the main grille wasn’t enough, there’s another one at the bottom of the bumper. Eagle eyed readers may notice it has the same shape as the upper grille, and both are the same overall shape as GMC’s current signature grille. It’s a nice attention to detail that falls in line with GMC design language.
Because the grille is the same shape, just larger, that prominent Denali badge on the front is the biggest change from their current trucks. GMC is positioning Denali as a more unique sub-brand, as seen in the all-new Yukon. Yukon Denali models have a completely different interior than the regular Yukon. This Denali truck rendering removes all GMC badging from the front, and it’s completely possible for GMC to do just that on future Denali models across the lineup.
Being a design rendering, the wheels and wheels are also pumped up considerably. Coupled with the grille, it’s certainly a bold and intimidating design, but one that doesn’t look out of place on a full size HD pickup.
